Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Touristik / Tourismus, Note: 1,7, Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde (FH) (Nachhaltiges Tourimsusmanagement), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wildniscamps sind Angebote, die teils der Umweltbildung, teils der Freizeitgestaltung oder dem Tourismus zugeordnet werden. Bislang gibt es keine wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit Wildniscamp als infrastrukturelle Anlagen, die in naturnaher Umgebung Gelegenheit bieten, unter pädagogischer Anleitung mehrere Tage und Nächte zu verbringen.
Diese Arbeit versucht, solche Wildniscamps als Angebotsform in der Umweltbildung zu verorten, und diskutiert, inwiefern sie einen Beitrag zur Umsetzung des theoretischen Konzepts Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung (BnE) leisten können.
Die Arbeit verbindet eine theoretische und eine analytisch-empirische Vorgehensweise. Dabei wird zunächst eine ausführliche Beschreibung des Bereichs Umweltbildung vorgenommen, um eine Basis für die Diskussionen der Arbeit zu schaffen.
Mittels einer Literaturrecherche werden weiter grundlegende Definitionen, Ansätze, Diskussionen und der aktuelle Forschungsstand zum Konzept Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung erörtert, um anschließend die Konzepte der Umweltbildung und einer BnE zueinander in Bezug zu setzen.
Anhand der Indikatoren wird je ein Fallbeispiel aus den zwei vorhandenen Richtungen analysiert, nach denen sich Wildniscamp-Angebote in Deutschland ausrichten. Das Wildniscamp Bayerischer Wald greift die pädagogische Richtung Wildnisbildung auf, wie sie in Umweltbildungsangeboten von Nationalparken und Schutzgebieten verbreitet ist. Das Wildniscamp Jenbach bezieht sich auf die Ausrichtung der Wildnispädagogik der so genannten Wildnisschulen. Bislang gibt es wenig Kontakt unter Vertretern der beiden Richtungen.

In this book, Adam Trendowicz presents the CoBRA method (an abbreviation for Cost Estimation, Benchmarking, and Risk Assessment) for estimating the effort required to successfully complete a software development project, which uniquely combines human judgment and measurement data in order to systematically create a custom-specific effort estimation model. CoBRA goes far beyond simply predicting the development effort; it supports project decision-makers in negotiating the project scope, managing project risks, benchmarking productivity, and directing improvement activities. To illustrate the method’s practical use, the book reports several real-world cases where CoBRA was applied in various industrial contexts. These cases represent different estimation contexts in terms of software project environment, estimation objectives, and estimation constraints.

This book is the result of a successful collaboration between the process management division of Fraunhofer IESE and many software companies in the field of software engineering technology transfer. It mainly addresses software practitioners who deal with planning and managing software development projects as part of their daily work, and is also of interest for students or courses specializing in software engineering or software project management.

About the Author
Adam Trendowicz is a senior consultant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has led software cost estimation and software measurement improvement activities in software companies of different sizes and from various domains (e.g., in Germany, Japan, and India), and he has been involved in functional software size estimation (Function Points Analysis) and productivity benchmarking in organizations from both the industry and the public sector. His research interests include measurement-based controlling of software products and processes, software quality modeling and evaluation, and technology validation by means of empirical methods.

Don't be hasty to assume that pudding is dull.

As an American I have always been mystified by references in British sources and literature about blood puddings and Christmas puddings. The only pudding I knew came out of a box. I was appalled that people would eat blood, but couldn't wrap my adolescent head around the concept of a blood pudding. That was long ago and I have been mystified but not enough to go look it up. Lo, here's Quinzio's book on puddings, and now I know. Still seems weird.

This is excellent food writing, even if the concept of pudding having a history seems a tad odd. The book is a fast, entertaining and quite informative read. The illustrations are excellent. This short book has a dozen chapters, among them a chapter each on meat puddings, blood puddings, hasty puddings, bread puddings, rice puddings and Christmas puddings. The book has recipes in a section at the end.

She writes that the traditional puddings were often served at the start of a meal to fill diners up and curb the appetite before more expensive food was served. There seems to be a proletarian aspect to pudding.

Who would think pudding could be such fun?

I love pudding, and this book has introduced me to kinds I never even knew about. I not only learned a lot from it about pudding, but about social history - all the different kinds of people who ate it on so many different occasions. In Alice in Wonderland, the Red Queen introduced Alice to a plum pudding so she wouldn't be able to eat it, because it would be an acquaintance. Well, I was delighted to make the acquaintance of many puddings through this book, but look forward to eating them anyway.

You'll find recipes and charming anecdotes about all sorts of puddings from hearty, main dish steak and kidney pudding to light, whiskey-flavored bread pudding dessert. WELL DONE!

This book is a brief yet incredibly thought-provoking read in the genre of servant-leadership and applied philosophy. Messrs. Spears and Davis have put together a series of wonderful stories relating to the theory of servant-leadership, for which applied philosophy Mr. Spears has been the leading advocate since the passing of Robert Greenleaf. Each story is tightly edited without a surplus word--brevity is the point here--and yet great thoughts are proffered. Each story ends with a nice little teaching tool in which simple yet weighty questions are raised for discussion. This book would be a great teaching tool for college or high school students, or for anyone seeking to discuss and understand the things in life that really matter. While some discussions/readings on servant-leadership can be a bit heavy and dry to get through, this little gem is full of vim and vigor and well-worth the price of purchase. WELL DONE!

Appetizers for Thought

I read this book as part of a small group of mostly Thirty-somethings from my parish in New York City. It inspired many good conversations. But, in a few of the stories we wished the authors had gone deeper. It also had a few too many vignettes about management at Men's Warehouse (really). But, overall, a beneficial read.
