Fine reference for an aircraft that doesn't have many

The Me 410 is an aircraft that deserves better than it has received as far as coverage in the post war literature is concerned. While aircraft with far less numbers produced such as the Do 335 and the He 162 have been given extensive coverage the Me 410 has been given little respect. This book goes a way toward making up for this.
This Mushroom Model Publication Yellow Series (No. 6120) monograph from 2006 is a 6-1/2" x 9" square bound card cover with 120 pages. In typical Yellow Series fashion we are treated to a 32 page development history with descriptions of all sub types supported by a nice array of line drawings. The notorious predecessor Me 210 is also covered in some depth. There is a nice 5 page technical description, a 2 page production list, and a page of specifications. The meat of the book is 65 pages of detailed close up color photos of the two Me 410 survivors supplemented by extracts from contemporary technical manuals. 15 pages of color profiles round out the book.
There is also a nice unbound foldout sheet with plan and frontal views on one side and a superb John Weal cutaway on the other side that I have not seen elsewhere. As always, if buying second hand make sure this foldout is included!
All in all, I highly recommend this monograph of a neglected Luftwaffe type.

Excellent design history but no tabulation of performance: speed, range, bomb load, dimensions, arc.

Excellent and detailed account of the Me 410. Lots of photos and drawings. Very thorough history of the design development of the warplane including it's disastrous predecessor the Me 210. The book includes a one - page tabulation of the plane's performance specifications and characteristics: dimensions, weights, speed, altitude, range and so forth. The text discusses the various versions of the me 410: fighter, fighter bomber, reconnaissance plane. Details are given for the armament of each type developed.

Great single source Me-410 book

If you need a single source reference on the Me-410, buy this book. It is great value for money with plenty of details, solid "walk around" pictures of the two surviving examples. The RAF Cosford plane has detailed pictures with the cowls and access panels opened, giving you a good impression of the design features.
