Thomas L. Leclerc is a priest of the Missionaries of La Salette. He holds of doctorate of theology in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament from Harvard University. He is associate professor of sacred scripture at Emmanuel College in Boston.

What would God have us do as believers? Read what OT prophets communicated to the faithful as to what it means to really know God and to live righteously.

Very good for its price

This book is exactly what the title says. A good historical-theological introduction to the prophets and prophetic activity in the ancient Near-Eastern world. It deals with all of the prophets in the Old Testament. Starting with the prophets in the Pentateuch (Abraham, Moses, etc), up to the 'classic' prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.) The writer is a catholic priest, but his presentation is fair enough to be used by any other denomination (I am not Roman Catholic, but enjoyed the book).
