The analysis in the report makes a compelling case for concerted and coordinated action on multiple fronts to realize these aspirations and harness the potential of MENA’s women. In the region, women face a complex set of constraints to decision-making, choice, mobility and opportunity. Legal barriers, gender norms, lack of market relevant skills, limited opportunities in the private sector, to name a few. The report offers suggestions for policy action to address these myriad challenges. As the region looks to a new future and a new development path, we hope that this report will provide an analytical platform for debate and dialogue and a renewed commitment to gender equality.

1.1. Angaben zur Klasse

Der Unterricht wird an der Schule durchgeführt. Die Schule ist eine Gesamtschule. Der Technikkurs hat eine Klassenstärke von 15 Schülern, davon 6 weibliche und 9 männliche Teilnehmer unterschiedlicher Nationalitäten. Für diesen Technikkurs der Jahrgangsstufe 8 ist es der Kern-Bereich.

In der Schule gibt es einen Technik - Raum im Erdgeschoss. Somit sind die Lichtverhältnisse für praktische Arbeiten ideal. Der Raum bietet Platz für bis zu 20 Schüler. Jeweils vier Schüler können an einer Tischgruppe sitzen. Da ich für meine Unterrichtsstunde keine Werkzeuge außer Scheren und Kleber benötige, werde ich in diesem Abschnitt keine werkzeugtechnische Raumbeschreibung liefern und auch nicht auf die sicherheitsrelevante Verwahrung von Werkzeugen eingehen.

Die Schüler der 8. Jahrgangsstufe sind zwischen 13 und 14 Jahre alt. Der Technikunterricht findet für diesen Kurs Dienstag in der 5. und 6. Stunde statt.

1.2. Pädagogische - psychologische Überlegungen

Da ich die Schüler nur in diesem Fach bei einer gewissen Anzahl von Unterrichtsstunden kennengelernt habe, fällt es mir schwer komplexere Schlussfolgerungen im antropol.-psychologischen (z.B. Vorwissen, Lernstand, Sozialverhalten) Bereich für die Planung meiner Unterrichtsstunde zu ziehen. Despite the large number of psychotropic medications currently available, effective management of mental disorders continues to be a challenging task. Although monotherapy may be desirable, most patients require combinations of two or more psychotropic drugs. Polypharmacy aims to address different aspects of treatment resistance, especially insufficient response of positive and negative symptoms, cognitive disturbances, affective comorbidity, obsessive-compulsive syndromes and side-effects of antipsychotic agents. At the same time, evidence based guidelines in support of polypharmacy, and augmentative strategies are scant.

This two-volume collection is the first comprehensive, clinically oriented, reference text on polypharmacy (co-administration of more than one medication) or the use of multiple preparations to treat psychotic, cognitive, mood and anxiety disorders. This collection is divided into four parts.

Volume I contains two parts including chapters that serve as an introduction and overview of conceptual issues. Key topics include: rational polypharmacy, receptor binding targets, drug interactions, preclinical and clinical investigations in this field, dosing regimens, multiple medication use in forensic psychiatry, a naturalistic trial, adjunctive strategies, and multiple medication use for the treatment of somatic symptom disorders.

Volume II contains two parts that focus on antipsychotic polypharmacy for schizophrenia, and clinical practice in the USA, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Italy, polypharmacy and associated phenomena, clozapine combinations and the metabolic syndrome. The authors discuss combination therapy for bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive syndromes in schizophrenia, and potentially inappropriate medication use among elderly patients with dementia.

Finally, each volume includes Appendix contains ‘Annotated bibliography on polypharmacy’ and ‘List of Psychotropic Medications’.

The role of stem cells (bone marrow, umbilical, neural precursors & mesenchymal) derived transplants are discussed in separate chapters. SPECT, 7T MRI, and radiotracers are considered in the various animal models presented. Rat, mouse, and human clinical trials are considered. The major reservation would be the lack of some illustrations. This means the book should be for advanced investigators rather than beginners or non-experts in animal ischemia. Neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiologists, students, and research fellows would benefit from the discussions. The advantage of this book is it is very current discussing the most up to date journal data and analysis. Fire, fire everywhere

This is a title in Reaktion Book's "Earth" series, which I stumbled across by accident and have read all of. The publisher is British. Pyne, who is American, is probably the best known scholar of wildfire. This is not his best book but it's solid and an interesting read.

His approach may strike some readers as odd. This book is organized around the theme that fire is life--breathing is a kind of fire. Fire, says Pyne, is a product of life. Slow fire in living cells, enclosed fire in industrial processes, fires burning in forests. Without fire, no life. Sections include fires depicted; fires in history and so on. It is excellently illustrated. The illustrations are not just of wildfire, but paintings and depictions of fire--hellfire, fire as a force of nature, fire on the home hearth. This book considers cultural understandings of fire such as metaphor and legend, as well as fire being a phenomenon of nature.

Pyne is a fine writer and the topic is oddly interesting, although readers looking for a history of fires or how fires are fought will not find the book as interesting as people interested in things like the use of iconic images in the arts would. He does cover famous fires such as the famous Chicago fire, but as one part of several.

This is an interesting read, but I found it somewhat less satisfying than other books in the series, and especially not as good as other books by Pyne. I think it may be because he overdoes the fire-is-life trope.His point is well worth reading about, because I suspect, most people don't really think about the similarities of the fire in their own lungs and the fire in their car's engine.

Indian screw pine family Pandanaceae represents three genera, in which genus Pandanus and Benstonea are distributed in two hotspots in India – the Western Ghats and the Northeast Himalayan region. For the first time, Indian Pandanaceae has been assessed for its taxonomic status and phylogenetic relationship. The extensive survey by the authors led to the discovery of three new Pandanus species (two from the Western Ghats and one from the Northeast Himalaya). The present taxonomic revision confirmed total number of Pandanus species to 14 that are distributed in the Southern India (9 species) and Northeast Himalayan region (5 species). Genus Benstonea is represented by two species, one from Southern India and another species common to both regions. A detailed species identification key is given along with conservation status of each species following IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria (2001). The study revealed that, out of 16 Pandanus and Benstonea species, six species are under threatened categories.

In recent years, a chloroplast DNA-based molecular phylogenetic approach has been followed to understand the evolutionary relationship among the plant species. The interrelationship among the 14 Pandanus species at infrageneric level has been worked out using this approach, which has led to the rearrangement of some species to the subgenera proposed by Stone (1974). Moreover, the close relationship between Pandanus and Benstonea has been confirmed and the interrelationship of Indian Pandanus genus in global context is given. This book also describes the economic importance of each Pandanus species.

About the Author
1. Dr. Altafhusain Nadaf is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Botany, University of Pune, Pune; working in the area of biochemistry and molecular genetics of Indian Pandanaceae for past 10 years. He was awarded DST-BOYSCAST Fellowship to work as a Visiting Fellow at Centre for Plant Conservation Genetics, Southern Cross University, Lismore, Australia for one year in 2010-11. He has received research grants by several funding agencies including DST-Fast Track Scheme for Young Scientists and DBT-Rapid grant for Young Investigators (RGYI). He has successfully guided several Ph. D. and M. Phil. Students and women scientists (under DST-Women Scientists Scheme -A & B). He is working as a reviewer for many International journals. He has in his credit more than 40 research papers published in peer reviewed national and international journals of repute. He has presented his research work at national and international level. 2. Dr. Rahul Zanan is a young researcher working on the taxonomy and phylogeny of Indian Pandanaceae for past 5 years. He has obtained his doctoral degree from University of Pune, Pune. He has published 8 research papers in International journals. He is the authority on 3 new Pandanus species of India. He has received several awards for best oral and poster presentations in International and National conferences.
